Discover, develop and maximise potential

School governors have a legal responsibility to conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement and we do this by working in close partnership with the head teacher, school staff and parents.

Governing bodies have three key roles: setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluation. Day to day management of the school is the responsibility of the head teacher.

We are a group of volunteers (with 350,000 school governors in England this is the country’s largest volunteer force) who have been appointed for our expertise, commitment and most importantly enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to the education of children at NJK.

The full Governing Body meets every half term and minutes of these meetings are available for anyone to read. Specific items we think you might like to know about are included in the school newsletter.

The governors are always keen to hear parents’ views and with the successful creation of the Parent Council there are now more ways than ever to submit ideas, views and opinions into the school and we look forward to hearing them.

Thank you.
